Setting Up Domain Forwarding
Domain forwarding redirects visitors from one domain to another:
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to Domains > Redirects
- Choose the type:
- Permanent (301) - For SEO, tells search engines the domain has moved
- Temporary (302) - For temporary redirects
- Select the domain to redirect from
- Enter the destination URL
- Choose whether to redirect with or without www
- Check Wild Card Redirect to redirect all subpages
- Click Add
Example: Forward oldsite.com to newsite.com
- Type: Permanent (301)
- From: oldsite.com (all pages)
- To: https://newsite.com
- Wild Card: Yes
This ensures visitors to oldsite.com/about are redirected to newsite.com/about automatically.
