Using cPanel File Manager
File Manager lets you manage your website files directly from your browser:
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to Files > File Manager
- Select the directory to open (default: public_html for your website)
Common actions:
- Upload - Click Upload to add files from your computer
- Download - Select a file and click Download
- Edit - Right-click a file and select Edit to modify text files
- New File/Folder - Create new files or directories
- Rename/Copy/Move - Right-click for these options
- Extract - Right-click a .zip file and select Extract
- Compress - Select files, click Compress to create a .zip
Tip: Always back up files before making changes. Use the Copy feature to create backups of important files.
